My first computer was more of a custom made job, but similar to the Kaypro. I remember wondering what the hell I was going to do with 16k of memory. Then I got the radio shack model 100, which had a primitive communication capability, and the rest is history.
My first computer was also a Kaypro II, and I was sad to part with it when the CP/M operating system went the way of the dinosaurs, thanks to Microsoft.
This is my eternal struggle with my husband. I wanted the sound that still comes out of our vintage Bose speakers, but needed to get them to work with Bluetooth technology. I suggested the possibility to him but he was "sure" that wasn't possible......one day I visited the home of a young college student friend, whose roommate had purchased some fabulous speakers at a garage sale and also a gadget that made them Bluetooth compatible! I began researching, bought the gadget and installed it myself! But my husband claims the gadget "doesn't LIKE his phone" so he is unable to use it. Because he refuses to learn how to operate it. Also I think , because I figured it all out myself, his ego is extremely deflated. Don't care...I'm enjoying concert sound from YouTube videos whenever I feel the urge.
I have a cell phone but I still mostly use my landline. I have a laptop I don't like. My desktop is 19 years old, running XP, and still does most of what I want. I'm not a gamer nor do I watch movies online. And yet, I was an EDP auditor in my earlier career (before becoming a librarian).

Wordstar was better than Word. But I wasn't sorry to get rid of kaypro. Kept those disc's forever and finally ditched them
